Modernisierung von bis zu 25 Straßenbahnbeiwagen vom Typ SB09 Lot 1: Der AG betreibt in seinem Straßenbahnnetz 30 Straßenbahnbeiwagen vom Typ SB9. Hersteller der Beiwagen ist die Firma Linke Hoffmann Busch für den mechanischen Teil und ABB Henschel für den elektrischen Teil. Diese Fahrzeuge haben bereits eine Einsatzdauer von ca. 27 Jahren bzw. eine Laufleistung von circa 1.900.000 km erreicht. Laut Herstellerun-terlagen beträgt die Lebensdauer 30 Jahre. Bei diesem Projekt handelt es sich zunächst um die Modernisierung (Redesign) von 15 Niederflurbeiwagen vom Typ SB09. Diese bestehen aus einem Wagenteil. Weiterhin sollen in zwei Optionen jeweils 5 weitere Beiwagen modernisiert werden.
