Description

The Holborn Enabling Works project comprises land clearance, remediation, bulk earthworks and maritime works specifically to construct a level development platform for subsequent development by a third party. The following elements are envisaged: — bulk excavations, — vegetation clearance, — fly tipping/asbestos clearance, — maritime works incorporating the demolition of redundant riverside structures and the construction of new sheet pile and combi pile river walls, — temporary works (e.g. cofferdam), — permanent works to block off a disused graving dock (e.g. concrete retaining structure), — dock inspection and repair, — treatment of in-situ silts, — dock infilling with as-dug material from elsewhere on site, — sealing, — remediation, — ground obstruction removal, — in-situ treatment and off site disposal of contaminated soils, — capping/hoarding, — utility isolations. The works will be subject to the client obtaining the necessary permissions and consents and are envisaged to be procured during late Summer/Autumn 2020. Supplier Engagement: South Tyneside Council would like to undertake a market engagement event with organisations interesting in tendering for and delivering these works. Please note that participation in this engagement event or registration of interest will not give any advantage in this procurement opportunity, but is purely an opportunity to potentially shape the requirements. We will consult with interested parties to get views and comments on the planned approach to market. Your responses will help to inform the procurement although we cannot guarantee that all views expressed will be taken into account. The market engagement event is expected to take place on a date yet to be established but likely to be during week commencing 30 March 2020. If you wish to participate please contact kevin.graham@southtyneside.gov.uk as soon as possible but by no later than Friday 27 March 2020. It is intended to issue the OJEU notice on tenders electronic daily/issue the notice on the UK eNotification service by May 2020 and suppliers are advised to monitor regularly for the opportunity to be published. Once the OJEU contract notice/UK eNotification notice has been published suppliers will be required to express interest in this opportunity on the NEPO ProContract system. If not already registered on ProContract please register at the following link: https://procontract.due-north.com Suppliers will then be granted access to the tender documentation once it is published. Please note that registering onProContract and expressing interest does not mean that you have bid for the tender — once the above steps are complete you will be required to complete and submit the tender documentation.
