Description

The Strategic Stone Study (SSS) was set up by Historic England (HE) to provide more detailed information on natural stone used in the building stock of England. The information assembled to date is available as county atlases and datasets, and a searchable database, which is freely available on a GIS website called EBSPits (England's Building Stone Pits). This phase of the SSS will enable a further 2 counties (Hampshire (including the New Forest) and the Isle of Wight) to be completed. Historic England is seeking a single contractor to manage the completion of these 2 areas. This contractor will be required to manage work completed by a series of contributors.
