The purpose of this Prior Information Notice is to notify the market of Belfast City Council’s intentions to hold a pre-market engagement event with interested suppliers to provide information on the PEACEPLUS Youth Empowerment Project – Inspiring Future Belfast and inform of the procurement process required. As part of this process Belfast City Council will host a pre-market engagement session on the 22nd August 2024, 10:00am – 12:00pm in Belfast City Council Offices at 9 Adelaide Street, Belfast, BT2 8GA to provide information to interested suppliers, including: the project requirements, key deliverables and results, the procurement process and the indicative timeframes for the project. Suppliers interested in attending this session must register by Monday 19th August 2024, by emailing peacepluslap@belfastcity.gov.uk. A maximum of 2 individuals per organisation can register to attend, further detail will be issued to registered attendees in advance of the session. The PEACEPLUS Youth Empowerment Project forms parts of the Belfast PEACEPLUS Local Community Action Plan, which is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Lot 1: The purpose of this Prior Information Notice is to notify the market of Belfast City Council’s intentions to hold a pre-market engagement event with interested suppliers to provide information on the PEACEPLUS Youth Empowerment Project – Inspiring Future Belfast and inform of the procurement process required. The Youth Peace Project aims to empower young people to become agents of peace in their communities and beyond, with the goal of promoting and understanding peace among the younger generation and inspire future Belfast. It is envisaged that the project will be delivered through various activities such as workshops, seminars, peace camps, and community outreach programmes. These activities should be designed to educate young people on the importance of peace, conflict resolution, and tolerance, as well as provide them with the necessary skills and tools to become peace ambassadors in their communities. The scope of the project activity is to be delivered across different age groups across four strands. The overall target requirement for the project is 2,106 participants, within an allocated budget of £970,861 (excluding VAT) over 3 years from November 2024 to October 2027. Strand 1 - 9–12-year-olds (Juniors) To engage 1500 children in a targeted cross community project focusing on building friendships, making friends with others from a different community and understanding diversity through fun / life skills activity. Strand 2 – 12-15 year olds (Intermediate) To engage 350 young people in targeted cross community activity focusing on relationship building, life skills and leadership, including an action learning element. Strand 3 - 16-18 year olds (Seniors) To engage 160 young people in a targeted cross community project focusing on a citizenship intervention model that includes education & training in good relations, diversity, human rights, equality, social justice, advocacy, social action, lobbying and campaigning. Strand 4 – 19-25 year olds (Young Adults) To engage 96 young adults in a targeted cross community project focusing on building capacity of the young adults to develop as peer leaders in communities and help promote peace building. Participants should have the opportunity to develop a variety of skills, qualifications and experience in Community Leadership, Youthwork in local communities, Good Relations, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding.
