All Trusts have a mandatory requirement to calculate and submit patient level cost information to NHSE/I on an annual basis, called the National Costs Collection. The software required to make the submission is commonly referred to as PLICS. The software is also used to produce Service Line Reports which show the Trusts income & expenditure by specialty.
