Landscaping and External Works Framework Market Engagement

The purpose of this consultation is to engage with local suppliers, SME’s and wider landscaping and civils contractors to raise awareness of the upcoming opportunity to apply for a place on the Council’s external works framework – incorporating hard and soft landscaping, masonry, highways surfacing and civils works, fencing and metal works and supply and installation of play and sports equipment. Lot 1: Hard and Soft Landscaping A variety of hard and soft landscape works; Hardworks elements to including surfacing of footpaths, car parking, and vehicular areas, seating areas, steps, ramps, street furniture. Softworks to include excavation, filling, levelling, soiling and ground preparation, ripping and cultivation. The creation of grass and meadow areas, through either seeding or turfing. All aspects of planting including the supply and planting of groundcover, shrubs and herbaceous planting, bulb planting, woodland and native planting, tree planting up to Semi-mature stock size including tree planting accessories. Aftercare operations including weeding, pruning, training, fertiliser and herbicide application, replacement planting, mowing, staking and tying. Additional information: Potential value £2million Works are likely to be located within schools, town centres, local parks and open spaces within residential areas, within business parks, education establishments including nurseries, schools and colleges, within the grounds of public buildings such as libraries, town & parish halls and other council buildings Lot 2: Highway Surfacing & Civils Works Highway and Civils works to footways, carriageways, parking areas and verges including but not limited to; Excavation, planing, regulating and resurfacing of the road network, kerbing, edgings, channels; minor drainage repairs and adjustments including replacement and resetting of inspection covers, gully replacements, surfacing of a variety of DMRB Group materials. Installation of traffic calming measures such a road humps, studs, coloured surfacing Footway works to include Excavation, planing, regulating and resurfacing and associated hardworks such as steps repair and or replacement. Block paving, repairs, re-sanding and new surfacing. The installation of tactile crossings and VAC’s including kerb adjustment and surfacing. Additional information: Potential value £2million Bidders should note that the council has a direct labour workforce team: Highways DSO carry out works on or affecting the highway. The framework is in place to support capacity of the internal team. Lot 3: Fencing & Metal Works The fabrication, supply and installation of British Standard compliant timber and steel fencing types The fabrication, supply and installation of bespoke and non-standard fencing types and the fabrication, supply and installation of artistic artworks and gateway features. Works are likely to be located within housing estates, community facilities, schools, town centres, local parks and open spaces, sports grounds, business parks, Roundabouts and verges, education establishments including nurseries, schools and colleges, within the grounds of council houses, public buildings such as libraries, town & parish halls and other council buildings. Additional information: Potential value £400K Lot 4: Play Equipment Works to include the supply and installation of Playground equipment within parks and play areas, trim trail and play equipment in school grounds and outdoor gym equipment within parks and open spaces The supply and installation of a variety of impact absorbing safety surfacing including grass matting, rubber matting, rubber tiles, rubber crumb surfacing, geotextiles, play sand and bark surfacing, artificial grass and grass carpet surfacing. Additional information: Potential Value £1.5m Lot 5: Sports Equipment and Sports Surfacing Works to include the supply and installation of Specialist sports equipment and surfacing within parks and school grounds and recreation grounds and stadiums. The supply and installation of a variety of specialist outdoor sports surfacing and equipment including but not limited to tennis, basketball, athletics tracks, Artificial grass and cricket practice wickets, line markings. The supply and installation of outdoor recreational fixed sports equipment including but not limited to outdoor gym equipment, tennis nets and posts, basketball hoops, and multi-use games areas, field, and track athletics equipment. Additional information: Potential value £250K Lot 6: Masonry The construction of new masonry and/ or stone walls and structures and the demolition and alteration of existing masonry and/ or stone walls and structures. Works to include the create of or removal, alteration, and repair of retaining walls, boundary walls, highway structures, bin stores, and drying areas. The works are likely to be located within town centres, local parks and open spaces within residential areas, within business parks, education establishments including nurseries, schools and colleges, within the grounds of public buildings such as libraries, town & parish halls and other council buildings. Additional information: Potential value £400K
