Description

(1) Fencing around Graig Fawr, a c.60ha woodland on the side of Caban Coch reservoir, to the southwest of Rhayader (Grid ref SN919627). The site has historically been subject to trespass sheep grazing and needs new fencing in order to exclude sheep and contain cattle. A new line of fencing is needed along the length of the reservoir edge (estimated total length: 2300 metres). There are also two streams within the site that need to be fenced to keep cattle out of the water (estimated total length 417 metres). Both will require preparatory work clearing the fenceline of trees and shrubs/undergrowth.Two new pedestrian gates are needed where new and existing fences cross the track including replacing one existing wooden gate. One new field gate is needed to provide vehicle access to the dam. See map and specifications on ITQ.Note that the fences to keep the cattle out of the middle stream (369 metres) can consist of three strands of high tensile topwire. Therefore the total lengths of each type of fencing required are: sheep netting: 2348 metres, three strands topwire: 369 metres(2) Fencing around Cnwch, a c.10ha woodland on the side of the River Elan, to the southwest of Rhayader (Grid ref SN931647).The site has historically been subject to sheep grazing and needs new fencing to exclude sheep and contain cattle. A new line of fencing is needed alongside the main public footpath, which is accessible to wheelchairs, to exclude all livestock. Another new fence line is needed to prevent stock accessing a neighbouring garden. Sheep netting will be needed for both fence lines to prevent trespass grazing.A new line of three strand high topwire will be needed around the southern and eastern perimeter of the compartment, two metres apart from the existing fence line. This is to prevent neighbouring stock coming in close contact with any cattle within the woodland compartment. This work may require minor preparatory work clearing the fence lines of shrubs and undergrowth. Two new field gates and one new self-closing pedestrian gate will be needed: one field gate + pedestrian gate where the fence line crosses a footpath; another field gate to be placed parallel to an existing gate, with fencing linking the two, to create a cattle handling area. See map and specifications on ITQ.The total lengths of each type of fencing required are: sheep netting: 704 metres, three strands topwire: 1018 metresNOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=144083.
