Description
Stansted Airport (STAL) handles approximately 26mppa and is the 3rd busiest airport in London by passenger numbers and the 4th busiest in the UK. The airport is located to the North East of London and is connected by road and rail to the wider London and South East of England market, the busiest aviation market in the world. To keep pace with growing passenger numbers and increased customer expectations, STAL is undertaking a transformation programme to enhance its terminal infrastructure. The programme seeks to unlock capacity, maximising best use of the single runway and enhance passenger experience. STAL is proceeding with an application to Uttlesford District Council to lift the passenger planning cap from 35mppa to 43mppa. The Works to be procured include a new Arrivals building to sit alongside the existing terminal building in keeping with the iconic Foster design, reconfiguration of the existing terminal to form a Departures only facility, landside works and airside works. The Arrivals lot is approximately 120 000 000 GBP — 150 000 000 GBP in value. For this lot, the anticipated Call for Competition is through the Achilles UVDB System, expected Q2 2018. The Departures lot is approximately 180 000 000 GBP — 230 000 000 GBP in value. The anticipated Call for Competition is an OJEU process with contract notice, expected Q4 2018.
