Construction works to provide new Private Patient Unit (PPU) accommodation for The Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The works consist of refurbishment of a leased premises across multiple floors (core fit out of existing shell) and will require full M&E services installation. The completed accommodation will provide healthcare facilities including consultation / examination rooms, treatment rooms, chemotherapy treatment and diagnostic imaging. Major medical equipment will be procured independently by the Trust. The works will be fully designed and contract awarded under JCT (2016) Standard with Contractor's Design Portion for minor ancillary items. The Contract will be for provision of Construction Works to include but not limited to demolition / strip out, structural, internal partitioning, ceilings, flooring, sanitary ware and plumbing, electrical and mechanical building services plant, BMS controls and infrastructure, medical gases, lighting, small power, communications, doors, radiation shielding, nurse call, fire alarm and security installations and specialist finishing trades. Major medical equipment will be procured independently by the Trust although the Contractor will be required to coordinate construction with installation programmes for medical equipment. The works will take place within leased premises whereby a shell will be provided to the contractor for fit-out. Works will be fully designed although some elements will require a portion of Contractor's design for ancillary and specialist engineering services. The form of contract will be the JCT Standard (2016) with Contractor's Design Portion. Contract Retention will be held for 12 months which will be released upon completion of the Defects Period. Tendering Information is targeted for release in early September 2018. Award of Contract is targeted for December 2018. Construction Commencement is targeted for April 2019, although early access may be available from January may move this into April 2019, subject to satisfactory progression of enabling works to provide the shell. Contract Commencement will therefore be between January 2019 and April 2019, subject to progression of a third party. A Restricted Procedure will be followed. Upon receipt of Expressions of Interest, potential suppliers will be required to complete a Standard Selection Questionnaire (SQ) or TED electronic referencing. The Contracting Authority are seeking to award contract to a supplier with demonstrable experience in providing high-specification healthcare facilities of a similar nature to this project, or where the technical and professional ability of the supplier can be demonstrated as being of similar nature in other sectors. Those suppliers selected for the short-list will be invited to tender. Tenders will be evaluated on the basis of Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) with a price and quality component required for the tender submission.
