Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales has been collecting and storing archives and records of its history and artifacts since 1907 and in that time, it has never been subject to formal archiving procedures. Whilst some departments have been more proactive than others in adopting modern archiving practices, many of the Museum’s disparate archives and records are not stored in a systematic or retrievable manner. They are scattered across several of the Museum’s eight sites, at various locations and departments, and we rely very much on personal knowledge of what records we have, and where they are stored. The intention of this invitation to tender is to procure the expertise to help us to address the deficiencies inherent in the above scenario and create a strategy for the future.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
