Published

Description

This call-off contract is to deliver nutrient analysis for soil and organic manures as well as mineral analysis for livestock feeds and forage. This information will help provide farmers and the Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) Partnership with data and information required for soil nutrient management planning, soil improvement and livestock feed planning. Lot 1: This call-off contract is to deliver nutrient analysis for soil and organic manures as well as mineral analysis for livestock feeds and forage. This information will help provide farmers and the Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) Partnership with data and information required for soil nutrient management planning, soil improvement and livestock feed planning. This will enable advisers contracted on behalf of CSF, and Natural England Catchment Sensitive Farming Officers (CSFO), to have the evidence to influence farmers of the benefits of soil testing, good soil nutrient management, and mineral analysis for feeds and forage. These results will be an advice and training tool for CSF to inspire farmers to undertake voluntary action to help improve water and air quality, where agriculture has been identified as part of the issue. The analysis will enable farmers to use crop and livestock nutrients more efficiently, improve soil organic matter and soil health to reduce the risk of nutrient and soil run-off and to improve business efficiency.

The CSF Partnership is delivered by Natural England, the Environment Agency, the Forestry Commission and is funded through Defra. The primary aim of the CSF partnership is to use voluntary, supportive means to reduce air and water pollution from agriculture in England to achieve Environmental Improvement Plan outcomes.

Natural England employ CSFOs throughout the country, and work with partner CSFOs, but some work is also contracted out through the Environmental Training Advice and Facilitation Framework (ETAFF) to employ advisers to undertake work on behalf of CSF. These advisers work for a number of different organisations, a list of which is available on request.
