Description

Following increased demand for domiciliary care provision in the City, Stoke-on-Trent City Council are looking for one or more additional, suitably registered care providers to provide domiciliary care and carer support to the residents of Stoke-on-Trent in addition to the ten providers who already provide domiciliary care under a contract with the City Council. Currently we are facing an expected number of people who will require that their care needs are to be met by a domiciliary care provider from 1st October 2016. As the level of need for individuals fluctuates it is not possible to guarantee exact numbers of people who will be requiring care at this stage, nor is it possible to accurately predict the size of individual care packages. At this stage the City Council is predicting approximately 50 packages of care of varying sizes of package at various locations throughout the City. The contract cannot guarantee work, however, the City Council does reserve the right to place additional packages with the successful provider following mobilisation in response to demand for the service. More accurate numbers of packages and hours will be released via clarification messages during the tender. As the Care Act places responsibility on the City Council to manage the market it is imperative that this business is accommodated based on your existing staff availability and not as the result of recruitment activity, as this would potentially destabilise the existing market. The current service providers recently received an increase in the hourly rate paid by the City and therefore the City Council are not able to offer rates above that which it's current providers are paid. The current hourly rate paid by Stoke-on-Trent City Council is £15.45 per hour for care provided between the hours of 6am and 10pm. Adjustments to this rate for evening calls and sits are within the attached Pricing Schedule included as part of the contract and specification.
