The micro asphalt process is a two-phase process. First, a regulating layer of material is applied. This improves the surface profile of the road. This is followed by a second layer which gives the final surface. Both layers are usually applied on the same day, to a thickness of approximately 14mm Lot 9: Lot 9 Infrared Pothole Patching Infrared patching - uses an infrared heating unit to heat in-place asphalt to soften it to a workable state, then new asphalt can be added which fuses seamlessly to the old. Lot 10: Lot 10 Spray Injection Patching A process that allows road defects such as potholes, cracking and crazing to be fixed by applying a blended bitumen emulsion and aggregate mix to potholes for a permanent repair solution.
