Description

Space Industry Skillnet was formed in 2006 and is an enterprise led training network that organizes essential training for Irish companies who are or who want to be involved in the delivery of technology and services to the European Space Agency (ESA) in support of its space program. The Space Industry Skillnet is a national training network and operates in all technology sectors. The objective of the Space Industry Skillnet is to encourage and enable more Irish companies to consider the space industry as a truly commercial opportunity and to provide them with the skills to do so. One of the key benefits of training is the development of skills that can are assessed to international standards and accredited to certified bodies. This approach provides industry with a skill resource base that is qualified and certified to known industry standards. In the field of electronic assembly the most common standards originate from the IPC, Association Connecting Electronics Industries, formerly Institute of Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits, organization and are recognized worldwide. This Request for Tender is inviting training providers with the appropriate background in the provision of certified training to IPC standards to respond with a proposal to provide IPC training services to Space Industry Skillnet network members. Space Industry Skillnet is co-funded through Skillnet Ireland and Network Companies. Skillnet Ireland is funded from the National Training Fund and the European Union through the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. The successful tenderer will be responsible for the overall management and provision of certified IPC training courses and the success of the program and for ensuring participant commitments to providing feedback to Space Industry Skillnet are met. They will maintain close contact with the Network Manager and will meet as often as needed. The successful tenderer will be selected by Space Industry Skillnet Steering Group following an evaluation process. The successful tenderer will be required to exercise the necessary governance and management to ensure that the training program is managed in a timely manner, within budget and within the constraints of the contractual agreement made with Space Industry Skillnet. The task will require availability to provide training services to Space Industry Skillnet network members, during the period starting 1st August 2024. The dates, venues and number of participants will be decided on an on-demand basis according to the training needs of the Network Members. The successful tender will be from an experienced, qualified, training provider with industrial experience and will be subjected to satisfactory periodic performance reviews. Please note that this process refers to the provision of a service and will not lead to a contract of employment with Space Industry Skillnet or the Promoting Organization G and L Technology Ltd.
