Deliver Cynefin a Chymuned courses for communities in the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales
Published
Description
The purpose of this commission is to design and deliver a course to support local people and stakeholders to learn about the range of attributes (including heritage, Welsh language and culture and environmental attributes) that makes their community and area special in order for them to become ‘ambassadors’ that can provide a holistic tourism experience for visitors to the area. There should be an emphasis on the Welsh language and place names in order to promote appreciation of why these are an important aspect of the area’s identity. The premise is based on the ‘Cynefin a Chymuned’ course developed by Dolan and Cwmni Bro Ffestiniog. A report and recommendations prepared by Cwmni Bro Ffestiniog on how to adapt the course for a range of communities is available to the successful applicant. The objectives below are taken from that document. The course should be offered at different levels of intensity and with clear options for accreditation. We expect that between 10 and 15 courses should be made available to pilot in different areas within the Slate Landscape and a model should be developed that can be adopted and rolled-out to other areas.
