GC-PDHID for Trace Amount of Inert Gases Analysis

Published

Value

80,000 GBP

Description

The National Physical Laboratory [NPL] requirement is for GC-PDHID for Trace Amount of Inert Gases Analysis The current objective of the new instrument is to perform faster and better measurement using state of the art separation and analysis. The new instrument should improve the limit of detection from 300 nmol/mol level, to 10 nmol/mol, and rapid separation of oxygen, nitrogen and argon from 15 minutes down to 10 minutes (with a better resolution). Therefore, the purchase of GC-PDHID instrument will solve challenges and provide opportunity in this growing area: - expand capacity: the GC-PDHID will allow to expand existing and novel areas (ultra-low concentration of inert gases) without impacting existing service or project. It would support the growth of revenue and projects as High-Quality, testing measurement service, novel PRMs. - expand capability: the new instrument will increase the limit of detection from 300 nmol/mol level to 10 nmol/mol level, and can separate oxygen, nitrogen, and argon in shorter time. It would support the growth of revenue and projects as testing measurement service. - instrument contingency. instrument contingency of instrument to application where they maximise impact (i.e., GC-PDHID can also do routine measurement). There is direct contingency, and it will avoid any delay in delivering project of MS.
