Description

The City of Edinburgh Council established a flexible purchasing system for temporary accommodation in March 2022. This was a long-term opportunity with the aim to increase Edinburgh’s capacity for temporary accommodation. The Council require accommodation and associated services which are tailored to resident’s needs, can adapt by flexing capacity whilst having a focus on value for money and allows continued change and improvement. Following notification that the incumbent provider of services at three properties owned or leased by the Council were handing in their notice, the Council have undertaken a mini-competition for those providers on Category 2 - Temporary Accommodation with Residential Support, specifically: Category 2C – Homeless Accommodation with Support. The properties cover General, Rapid Access and services specifically for Young People. Lot 1: General This contract opportunity is for the provision of Homeless Accommodation with Support homeless people who require additional support to sustain temporary accommodation and to move to more permanent accommodation. This Lot 'General' provides accommodation within Edinburgh which enables the Council to provide accommodation for adult single households / individuals and couples experiencing homelessness. People who require the service must have support needs and require housing support. People using the service will have a range of support needs but should not require care. Lot 2: Rapid Access Lot 2 'Rapid Access' - This contract opportunity is for the provision of Rapid Access Homeless Accommodation with Support for people who are rough sleeping. The contract is to provide accommodation within Edinburgh which enables the Council to provide accommodation for adult single households / individuals and couples experiencing homelessness. People who require the service must have support needs and require housing support. People using the service will have a range of support needs but should not require care. Lot 3: Young People Youngs People (Lot 3) - This contract opportunity is for the provision of Homeless Accommodation with Support for homeless young people who require additional support to sustain temporary accommodation and to move to more permanent accommodation. The contract is to provide accommodation within Edinburgh which enables the Council to provide accommodation for Young People aged 16 to 25 experiencing homelessness. People who require the service must have support needs and require housing support. People using the service will have a range of support needs but should not require care
