Oberstown Children Detention Campus (Oberstown) is a national service that provides a safe and secure environment for young people remanded in custody or sentenced by the Courts for a period of detention. We are located on a single site in Oberstown, Lusk, Co Dublin. The principal objective of the campus under the Children Act 2001 is to provide appropriate care, education, training, and other programmes to young people between 12 and 18 years with a view to reintegrating them successfully back into their communities and society. The framework for providing these objectives which focuses on providing Care, Education, Health and wellbeing interventions, offending behavior programmes and Preparations for leaving. Oberstown’s mission is to ensure that young people detained in Oberstown Children Detention Campus are supported to move away from offending behavior to make a more positive contribution to society. Oberstown Detention center has a requirement to obtain the services of a competent contractor to provide Incident management training and skills development at Oberstown Children Detention Campus. The strategy of Oberstown is the sustained delivery of best quality care to young people and the sustained wellbeing of the organisation. Incident management in Oberstown sits under the Work Safe Pillar as part of the Working Well framework. The Objective of this pillar are to • Create a safe and healthy working environment • Build safe and healthy working systems • Build a safe and healthy culture Oberstown has developed and adapted a number of interventions to achieve these objectives. These interventions encompass pre incident planning, incident management and post incident stages. The contracting authority wishes to undertake training of its staff in the management of Critical Incidents to develop further the response to critical incidents for both the staff and the young people.
