Leicester City Council (LCC) is considering options on the brand and associated services for Corporate Laptop Devices. The council historically have been a Lenovo House on the devices they deploy and up to the pandemic procured devices through a reseller to an agreed specification. During the pandemic the Council made a move to procure remanufactured devices which not only supported the council’s sustainability efforts but enabled devices to be secured in line with the ongoing global constraints. The Council operates a PC replacement program, which means devices are replaced on a rolling basis, circa 1000 per year, every year. We are now considering reviewing the brand of devices we deploy, whilst ensuring any any change supports further cost avoidance. In addition, any change needs to be a brand/device that is seen to be “green” and as a minimum are either carbon neutral or on a roadmap to go negative. Keywords: Computer Hardware, Laptop
