Market dialogue Bornholm Energy Islands - Cables
Published
Description
The Danish Folketing (The Danish Parliament) has decided to construct two energy islands in Denmark – in the North Sea and in the Baltic Sea. The energy island on Bornholm will have a capacity of 3 GW, while the one in the North Sea will have a capacity of 3 GW in 2033, and 10 GW in the longer term. For the Bornholm Energy Island project, neighbouring transmission system operators 50Hertz (Germany) and Energinet (Denmark) signed a corresponding cooperation agreement on the construction of a hybrid interconnector between the respective countries. This market dialogue is launched regarding the Bornholm Energy Island project for establishing the required cable connections from/to Bornholm. Lot 1: This market dialogue is a process which aims at the interaction between the Employers and the potential suppliers prior to the respective public procurement procedure. The market dialogue seeks to cover as many relevant topics as possible, that is: cable and installation technology, production capacity and market situation, scope of works, pricing, contractual issues, sustainability, QHSE, time schedule, risk etc. The complete scope of works for the required cable connection(s) may include, but is not limited to • cable production and delivery • UXO • offshore installation including preparation • laying and burial • landfalls • jointing works both onshore and offshore • onshore civil works The contracts are expected to be set-up as EPC contracts, either splitting or combining the relevant scope of works. The purpose of this PIN is to share information and to start up the market dialogue, which will be performed as individual meetings either as physical meetings or online meetings. Expected timeline for the meetings: From 12th to 23rd June 2023. All relevant documents and information are available at Energinet and 50Hertz’ common webpage http://bornholmenergyisland.eu/en/market-dialogue.
