Es soll ein ERMTS/ETCS-Labor in der Außenstelle München (Sachgebiet 226) des Eisenbahn-Bundesamtes eingerichtet werden. Das Labor beinhaltet die Simulationsmöglichkeit aller notwendigen Infrastruktur- und Fahrzeugkomponenten des Europäischen Zugsicherungssystems ETCS und die Möglichkeit der Anbindung realer ETCS-Hardware. Dazu gehört auch ein rudimentärer Fahrsimulator mit den wichtigsten Führerstandsanzeigen und Bedienelementen, um projektierte Strecken direkt abfahren und damit verifizieren zu können.
