Description

The National Monuments Service requires the services of an archaeologist with archival experience to process legacy deposits of archaeological objects, paper records of excavations, legacy files, archives, plans, maps and other material as required. Some of this material will require processing according to the National Museum guidelines, for transfer. Other material will require preparation for scanning to add to the NMS record of archival material. The work will include cataloguing, basic preservation, as well as working with NMS databases and datasets from excavations. These records are primarily stored at the Cultural Resource Centre (CRC) in Swords, with lesser quantity of material in the Custom House and other outside locations. It will be the responsibility of the person appointed to carry out this work under the supervision of NMS Archive Unit personnel to archive standards.
