Description

The works include 8 no. Cable Percussion (CP) boreholes are to be drilled until refusal on bedrock (anticipated depth range between 2m below ground level (bgl) to 6m (bgl). It is anticipated that drilling will be done either from the Black Rock Pier or a floating barge within the basin; Rotary core follow-on boreholes to drill through the bedrock to a minimum depth of 15m bgl or a minimum of 4.5m into competent, unweathered rock (to be determined by the supervising geotechnical Engineer through TCR, SCR and RQD logging), whichever is shallowest; In-situ testing comprising Standard Penetration Testing (SPT) on 1m intervals and upon reaching bedrock; Retrieval of soil samples and rock cores for geotechnical laboratory testing; Laboratory testing and reporting
