Die Maschinenbauschule Landshut mit Berufsfachschule für Maschinenbau und Fachschule für Maschinenbau- und Mechatroniktechnik verfügt zurzeit über zwei funktionsfähige Industrieroboter. Eine umfassende Ausbildung mit nur zwei Roboter ist organisatorisch nicht durchführbar. Da die Anschaffungskosten für Industrieroboter mit entsprechender Sicherheitseinrichtung erheblich sind, sucht die Schule nach einem Robotikkonzept, das mit kostengünstigen Kleinrobotern eine Ausbildung ermöglicht, die sowohl eine Grundlagenvermittlung (BFS) als auch eine vertiefte Programmierung ermöglicht (Techniker). Dieses Ausbildungssystem soll Robotik, Automatisierungs¬technik und industrielle Bildverarbeitung ermöglichen.
