Description

Molecular Sciences Phase 1 is the first phase of a multi-phase building to form a new hub for the University’s Molecular Science research and will be located on the old Munrow Sports Centre, bounded by the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, Ring Road South and University Road West. Phase 1 is being designed to house researchers from School of Chemistry, some researchers from Pharmacy and a small cohort of Environmental Scientists from the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (GEES), along with providing inter-disciplinary post-graduate research student centre. This proposed development supports the Birmingham 2026 agenda in size and shape. The aim of the new building is to provide a focal point to strengthen the University's core research capabilities in chemical, environmental and bio-molecular sciences, whilst providing improved facilities for academics and post-graduate students. This PIN is being used as a call for competition and interested tenderers are expected to express their interest through the in-tend website, address provided above. The procurement will be a restricted procedure with a maximum of 5 tenderers being selected to proceed to Stage 1 – Invitation to Tender. From the ITT Stage, 2 tenderers will then proceed to Stage 2. An industry day is planned for Thursday 6th December, details of which will be published via in-tend portal.
