Published

Description

The University of Strathclyde requires a partner(s) to facilitate and support a peer researcher process, working with two low income communities: young single men and families with young children. We require the organisation(s) to recruit and train peer researchers from these communities and support them to carry out a programme or research to inform understanding of the barriers and solutions relating to the intersection between low income and ill health. Lot 1: The University of Strathclyde requires a partner(s) to facilitate and support a peer researcher process, working with two low income communities: young single men and families with young children. We require the organisation(s) to recruit and train peer researchers from these communities and support them to carry out a programme or research to inform understanding of the barriers and solutions relating to the intersection between low income and ill health. Our ambition is to achieve demonstrable progress with tackling health inequalities in Scotland by providing evidence-based commentary and new approaches to progress implementation. The gap between government policy proposal and the implementation of government policy in the areas of housing and employability, as it relates to health equity for low-income families with young children and young older men (25-40). To effectively identify the thoughts, perspectives and opinions of community members on the gap between policy proposal and policy implementation, and the changes they would like to see to improve housing, employment and wellbeing in their communities. The successful supplier will provide a comprehensive qualitative dataset, which can be employed in the use of Scottish Health Equity Research Unit (SHERU) reports and outputs concerning the aforementioned implementation gap and setting out community-based proposals for policy and action. This is to be achieved by February 2027. Suppliers Responsibilities - Training of members within targeted communities (low-income older young men (25-40) and low-income families with young children) to facilitate peer research - Providing resources for the peer researchers to carry out their work and monitoring and assisting with delivery of the research as required. - Regular (monthly) updates on work to include emerging findings and transfer of pseudo-anonymised data relating to the programme. - Interim and final reports for publication on the outcomes of the programme. - Processing of gathered data; pseudonymisation of data - Any other tasks as necessary to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the service and achievement of the stated outcomes
