Digital Image Correlation System
Published
Description
This measurement system is to support experimental measurements of dynamic pipe cracking. The DIC system will need to be capable of operating at a remote distance from the pipe test piece. It is expected that the measurement equipment will be between 1.0 and 2.0 m from the test piece. The pipe test pieces will be manufactured from a range of common pipe materials, e.g. various plastics and cast iron. It will be possible to paint a speckle pattern on all these materials. The diameters will range from 50 to 300 mm. The size of the cracks and defects will range from the sub-millimetre to the tens of millimetres in size.
