Description
The purpose of the procurement is to cover Oslo University Hospital Trust's (OUS) need for 2D barcoded tubes for automated biobank freezers and handheld equipment for capping and uncapping tubes (de-/cappers). Lot 1: OUS has recently procured BiOS M, an automated freezer robot from Hamilton Storage GmbH. There is an option for an equivalent automated freezer robot. In addition, there are plans to install automated freezer robots at Radiumhospitalet and Aker Hospital. OUS currently intends to use the same type of tubes in all of its freezer storages. OUS is in the start-up phase of automated biobanking; the estimated need is based on the registration of tubes in the electronic biobank register in recent years, as well as OUS's estimated need for storage capacity. The estimated need is 500,000 2D barcoded tubes per year, and the maximum need is expected to be 800,000 2D barcoded tubes per year. It is unlikely that any exercise of the option mentioned above will lead to a significant increase in the need for tubes, but rather a relocation of storage for a portion of the tubes. In the long term, OUS aims to increase the collection of samples for biobanking. 2D barcoded tubes with the following working volumes must be acquired (some deviation is acceptable), and the percentage distribution of the need is stated in parentheses: 0.5 mL (77%), 1.0 mL (15%) and 2.0 mL (8%). The freezer robot is to be delivered with cassettes with fixed shelf distance; this means that the tubes cannot be above a certain height, see Appendix 3 Requirements Specification. There is a need for handheld de-/cappers to facilitate the work of opening and closing tubes. The need is uncertain, but OUS currently has four locations where samples for biobanking are collected. The contracting authority also wants an option for two fully automated 96-channel de-/cappers. The term of the option will be two years, with the possibility of price adjustment as a result of changes in the consumer price index and currency (EUR). The contracting authority has the unilateral right, but not the obligation, to exercise the option. The stated consumption/scope is an estimate for information to the tenderer, and is not binding for future contract volume.
