Security equipment

Description

Security equipment is required for the Commonwealth Games, briefly comprising fencing, crowd control barriers, X-ray equipment, CCTV, security lighting, radio systems and hostile vehicle mitigation. Providers may be responsible for: supply, logistics to/from site; installation and commissioning; training of operator personnel; games-time maintenance and re-calibration (where appropriate); de-mobilisation and return to normality. The OC is seeking to hire fencing and gates that conform to either of the three broad types detailed below. All fencing is to be temporary in nature and will require installation and de-installation by the provider. 1) High Security Fencing (with Hostile Vehicle Mitigation built in); 2) High Security Fencing (without HVM built in); 3) Asset Protection Fencing (Heras). Crowd control or pedestrian barriers to, e.g., establish queuing areas and delineate road event courses. Providers may be responsible for: logistics to/from site; installation and commissioning; training of operator personnel; games-time maintenance and re-calibration; de-mobilisation of the following items: 1) X-ray equipment; 2) Truck screening equipment; 3) Explosive trace detection; 4) Walk Through Metal Detector (WTMD); 5) Hand Held Metal Detector (HHMD or wand). Provision of temporary fixed and/or mobile CCTV surveillance. The OC is seeking to hire lighting systems for venues where there is no pre-existing lighting (or insufficient lighting), or at existing venues where the general arrangement of the site and the perimeter is significantly modified. Provision of hostile vehicle mitigation equipment, including: 1) Passive and active barriers certified to PAS68/IWA14-1; 2) Non rated barriers and items that contribute to deterrence and resistance of hostile vehicle attack. Provision of a 2-way, hand-held radio system and equipment for communications by OC security personnel at Games venues.
