UKEB website redevelopment project (Discovery Phase)

Published

Description

Summary of work Discovery phase for redevelopment of the UKEB website (https://www.endorsement-board.uk/). This will involve user research into both site users and CMS users, creating a list of key user groups, personas and user stories. Insight should also be gained from the analysis of GA4 and search console data. Technical discovery should involve a review of the current site, a content audit, proposed migration strategy and draft technical specification for the redeveloped site. At the end Discovery we expect a draft timeline and costs for delivery of the website, from Alpha to launch, plus a proposal for the structure and outcomes of Alpha. Where the supplied staff will work No specific location (for example they can work remotely) Why the work is being done The UKEB requires a robust, cost-effective Content Management System which provides an easy-to-use experience for authors and editors. Site users require an improved experience, especially in terms of finding content and navigating around the website. The business problem The UKEB's current website lacks basic features, such as a search engine and effective navigation, which makes content hard to find for users as the website grows. The website also lacks Accessibility compliance to a WCAG 2.2. AA standard. The authoring environment relies on publishing pipelines that are not instantaneous and subject to occasional failure.
