The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines on ADHD provides a framework for best practice and individualised care for young people, Adults and their families. The NICE, (March 2018) Overview/Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: diagnosis and management/Guidance/NICE recommend medication as the first line of treatment for adults with ADHD. Medication is effective in reducing the symptoms of ADHD in up to 80 % of patients and should only be initiated by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional with skill and expertise in ADHD. We are looking to commission an independent provider to deliver a NICE compliant model of medical care to address the current backlog of waiters. It is recognised that this will not meet the non-pharmacological interventions, as indicated in the NICE guidance, for those who do not respond to medical intervention. Service Description: We will require a referral targeted Assessment Treatment and follow up pathway. The service will: Provide a NICE compliant model of medical care. Inclusion Criteria • Over 18 Years of age • Resident of Devon and Plymouth • Where the person has capacity to consent to an assessment Exclusion Criteria • Complex Co Morbidity (Collaboration with the current Mental Health Providers around complex care and co morbidities) Liaise with the wider Neurodiversity pathways where appropriate, adult services (e.g. adult mental health services). The current budget is circa £250,000 incl. VAT. (Within Year Spend) DELIVERY OF SERVICES THIS FINANCIAL YEAR I.E. BY END OF MARCH 2022. Service requirements: The provider will make arrangements to ensure a delivery team of appropriate size with the relevant professional competencies, training and support to deliver effective targeted assessment, medical treatment and follow up for Adults with ADHD. The provider will treat identified adult referrals with respect and dignity, ensuring they are appropriately safeguarded and are enabled to contribute to planning their care. The provider will deliver care in a non-stigmatising environment, working as part of the wider network. This procurement is being carried out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioners. Additional information: NHS Devon CCG will not be liable for costs incurred by any interested party in participating in this exercise. Based on the market awareness and findings gathered from this process the commissioner may or may not engage in a competitive process. Should it be deemed that there is sufficient interest and capability in the market and subject to commissioner decisions interested parties should be aware that this notice may then be used to trigger as a call for competition and in that scenario no other notices will be placed before the competition is commenced. Contracts Regulations 2015 ("the Regulations") which are not subject to the full regime of the Regulations, but is instead governed by the "Light Touch Regime" contained within Chapter 3, Section 7 of the Regulations (Regulations 74 to 77).
