Cadder Housing Association are looking to appoint a back-up contractor for summer and winter maintenance. Appointed contractor will supplement their in-house estates maintenance team. Contract will commence immediately following contract award and will be in place until 7th April 2024. The contractor will be required to provide the following services: Weed/Moss The Contractor shall remove all weeds (including trimming back weeds from adjacent sites that may be encroaching) and moss growth from all hard and paved surfaces. For the avoidance of doubt,’ hard standing' is taken to include driveways or parking areas of hard paving or gravel, bin stores, paved patios, gravelled areas and soakaways and any hard borders, mowing strips and the like that exist within the site, excluding adopted roads and footways. Grass Cutting The Contractor shall cut all open spaces and fence lines throughout the estate fortnightly, the contractor will ensure that any grass on the walkway is cleared and removed from site. Check Fencing, Remove and dispose. It will be the contractors responsibility to report any broken or unsafe fencing throughout the estate, the client should be notified and where instructed by the client the contractor shall remove and dispose of. Graffiti Removal The contractor will be required to remove any grafitti where instructed by the Association Shrub & Hedge Removal/Reduction Shrubs: The Contractor shall remove mature shrubs including grubbing up roots where specifically instructed to do so by Cadder Housing Association’s representative. Any resulting holes shall be backfilled with topsoil lightly compacted. Hedges: The Contractor shall reduce the height and width of existing mature established hedges where instructed to do so by the Contracting Body’s representative. The Contractor shall reduce the height and width of existing shrub beds where instructed to do so by a Cadder Housing Association representative. The Contractor shall prune all shrubs and herbaceous plants in accordance with the prevailing season and the pruning schedule issued by Cadder Housing Association for individual sites, to promote and control growth, to improve their shape, and to remove all dead wood and broken, damaged or deformed branches. The Contractor shall maintain all edges of footpaths and will ensure that windows, door openings and the like are clear of plant growth. Close Pole Painting The contractor will be required to paint back court close pole where instructed by the Association. Close Cleaning There are 109 common closes that require to be cleaned on a weekly basis. Contactor will be required to undertake the following: Lift all mats. Dust down and wet wipe windows and sills. Remove all spider’s webs Sweep down stair and landings. Remove dust and dirt off site. Brush down and wipe handrails with damp cloth. Clean stair treads, risers and landings with hot water, mop and suitable cleaning agent. Clean and buff close tiles at ground floor. Clean handles of front close door. Sweep down and clean external stairs out with curtilage of close area. Leave a sign-off sheet in every close to record when the stair cleaning was carried out. clean stair head windows – one a month only. Ad-hoc work may also be required, and contractor will be informed by Cadder Housing Association as and when this is required.
