The Inspectorate Section in Waterways Ireland is responsible for on water tasks such as vessel registration, powerboat training courses, water safety, event management, navigation aids inspection, patrolling. The Inspectorate Section currently operate a RIB which is approaching the end of its service life and seek to procure a new RIB which will be used daily as a patrol boat on the Shannon Navigation and occasionally on other navigations managed by Waterways Ireland. Waterways Ireland seeks to procure a multi-purpose Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) that will fulfil the following Vessel Operational Profile - Navigation Inspections/Surveys - 50 per cent - Dignitary Trips, Wildlife Expert Transport - 25 per cent - ISA (Irish Sailing Association) Training - 25 per cent The RIB will be used as a training vessel by the Waterways Ireland Powerboat school which operates under the auspices of the ISA in delivering Powerboat courses to Waterways Ireland staff. The ISA inspect and certify the vessel each year for use as a training vessel. The RIB supplied must hold a Passenger Boat certificate issued by the Marine Survey Office, Department of Transport in Ireland. The supplier of the RIB will be responsible for ensuring that the vessel is delivered with a valid licence advised by the Marine Survey Office for this vessel type.
