Description
This project aims to establish a dedicated Women’s Resource Centre with a culturally sensitive approach towards meeting the needs of Bangladeshi women, who have been identified as one of the most marginalised members of the community. The centre will be open to women of all backgrounds. The women’s resource centre will offer a safe space for learning and developing, with on-site childcare facilities. The centre will also be a dedicated space for women seeking support and advice on a range of issues, especially support for Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG). 61 Vallance Road in Whitechapel has been identified as the site which will be converted into a Women’s Resource Centre (with focus on Bangladeshi women), by undertaking internal refurbishment works.
