Electric Vehicle Charging Stations for RIIO-ED2 Project (Hardware)

Please email jpgould@nationalgrid.co.uk for the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) document in order to participate in this tender procurement opportunity: National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) are planning to construct an extensive EV charging network of sites across the 4 DNO regions throughout the RIIO-ED2 regulatory period (2023 - 2028). These charging sites are to be located in Primary Substation Sites (PSS's) greater than 6.6kV up to Bulk Supply Sites (BSP's) up to 132kV. NGED has finalised the following Project Prioritisation plan for this: • Tier 1 Sites - 83 x 100kW DC Rapid chargers @ PSS sites & 11 x 22kW AC Fast chargers @ BSP sites • Tier 2 Sites - 33 x 40kW Mobile DC Rapid chargers @ Transport sites & 81 x 22kW AC Fast chargers @ PSS sites • Tier 3 Sites - 90 x 7.2kW AC Fast chargers @ Depot sites Tier 1 sites will be the highest priority of the project and will command the majority of the project budget. These will consist of the install of EV charging units at 94 sites across all four licence areas of NGED, based upon: - 83 x Rapid / DC charging units - 100kW output, 2 bays per unit, located at key Primary Substation Sites and Bulk Supply Points, with 1 unit per site - 11 x Fast / AC charging units - 22kW output, 2 bays per unit, located at key Bulk Supply Points, with 1 unit per site NGED are ambitious in their plans for delivery of the project, and are aiming to have Tier 1 rolled out and completed between April 2023 and April 2024.
