National Resilience - Detection, Identification and Monitoring (DIM) Equipment Uplift.

Published

Description

The suite will consist of devices that utilise a variety of technologies to allow the greatest number of 'target materials' to be detected and identified. The use of a suite of technologies will allow potential complementary identification of the target materials and reduce gaps in capability. Therefore, procurement will be split into discrete 'lots', based on the likely individual technologies, along with one additional 'lot' for any other technologies. Devices that use more than one technology type may be entered in either (or both) lots that apply. The full list of planned lots as currently envisaged follows although this may change by the time the tender is published. Lot 1: Device to detect gas and vapour chemical materials, using photoionisation detection. Lot 2: Device to detect gas and vapour chemical materials, using other technologies (including sufficient levels of oxygen for human respiration and to determine the presence of flammable/explosive atmospheres). Lot 3: Device to identify solid and liquid chemical materials, using infra-red spectroscopy. Lot 4: For a device to identify gas and vapour chemical materials, using mass spectroscopy. Lot 5: Device to identify gas and vapour chemical materials, using flame photometry. Lot 6: Device to identify gas and vapour chemical materials, using colorimetry. Lot 7: Device to identify solid and liquid chemical materials, using raman spectroscopy. Lot 8: Device, system or process to identify or classify solid and liquid chemical materials, using 'wet chemistry' and detector papers Lot 9: Device to identify solid, liquid, gas or vapour chemical materials using any other technology not listed in any other lot Lot 10: Device to identify biological materials, using lateral flow assay (LFA) Lot 11: For a device to identify biological materials, using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) Lot 12: For a device to detect emitted gamma and neutron radiation Lot 13: For a device to detect emitted alpha radiation Lot 14: For a device to detect emitted beta radiation Lot 15: For a device to identify gamma emitting radiological isotopes Lot 16: For a device to measure and record the dose of ionising radiation a person has received
