Description
Southend on See Borough Council is seeking to engage with the market to gain an understanding of the capabilities, capacity and appetite of the prospective providers to replace the cremators and explore innovative solutions such as electric cremators. This exercise is to inform the Council in its consideration of options for the future supply and ongoing operation and maintenance of cremators at Southend Crematorium. Following this soft market engagement stage it is envisaged that a tender opportunity will be published to appoint a Cremator Provider that will: • work with the Council's design team to inform the re-design of the Cremator room(s) at the Crematorium • work with an appointed Works contractor to support the re-build of the Crematorium • supply, operate and maintain the Cremators This is not a call for competition. As such any future procurement process will be compliant with the Public Contract Regulations (2015 (updated 2016)). This includes but is not limited to advertising and fair treatment of economic operators regardless of their involvement in this Soft Market Engagement. Please view and complete a short questionnaire (Appendix 1) on ProContract to indicate the current areas of development and innovation in your provision of Cremators. Please include details of timescales for the development of electric technology to power cremators. www.procontract.due-north.com The title of the project is: Early Market Engagement for Replacement of Cremators - Innovative Solutions
