Published

Description

The University of Galway (Ireland) within the College of Science and Engineering, tenders are sought for the supply of a FACS Machine for Choanoflagellates. General requirements: • A compact benchtop sorter • The system must be microfluidics-based. • This system must have two lasers: 488nm and 561nm and at least 9 fluorescent channels. • The system must have the ability to do both two-way sorting as well as sorting into 96-well plates for isolation of single cells. • It must be possible to easily change the sheath fluid used in sorting (in particular to seawater). • To preserve viability of choanoflagellate cells the system must operate at low pressure. • It is also essential to prevent cross-contamination between sorts so the entire fluid path should be sterile, and cartridge based. • The system must also be compact and portable so it can be transferred in and out of a sterile hood as necessary. • The system should be easy to use for individuals not familiar with flow cytometry. • At least 2 years’ maintenance contract should be included.
