The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is seeking a provider to undertake the Scottish Court Custody and Prisoner Escort Service (SCCPES) which covers all prisoner escorts in Scotland and some ancillary movement of prisoners as well as the management of prisoners whilst at court. The purpose of this procurement exercise is to award a contract for the Scottish Court Custody and Prisoner Escort Service (SCCPES). The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is the ‘lead’ authority for the 3rd generation contract which provides services for its collaborative partners: the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service, Police Scotland and Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service. The SCCPES contract has two key elements which are prisoner escorts (circa 180 000 per annum) and the management of prisoners in courts. A key requirement of the successful service provider will be a flexible approach to adapt the service they provide to meet a range of anticipated developments which are likely to have a significant bearing on the profile of services required over the contract term.
