Banedanmark besluttede på baggrund af en teknikanalyse i 2016 at outsource vedligeholdelse af Banedanmarks jernbaneanlæg. Nærværende udbud er 2. etape af i alt 3 etaper, og omhandler udbud af regionalt sporvedligehold, opdelt i to geografiske delaftaler med henblik på indgåelse af to rammeaftaler: 1) Regionalt sporvedligehold i region Midt- og Østjylland, og 2) Regionalt sporvedligehold i region Sjælland. Opgaven omfatter eftersyn og periodisk vedligeholdelse i henhold til gældende normer (normbaseret eftersyn), reparationsarbejder (tilstandsbaseret vedligeholdelse) samt akut fejlretning. Banedanmark tilbyder, som en del af rammeaftalen, at Leverandøren kan leje Banedanmarks vedligeholdelsestroljer med onboard-udstyr til kørsel på Fjernbanen. Se nærmere herom i udbudsmaterialet.
