Description

The maintenance service provider will deliver services related to the overall management and execution of the larger-scale on-site asset maintenance activities throughout the United Utilities (UU) region. Services will consist of core and non-core activities. Core activities will comprise of emergency, reactive and proactive optimised maintenance works, including but not limited to, repair, replacement and refurbishment, with no design other than ‘installation design’ (i.e. to facilitate installation of replacement assets/parts). Service includes the management of services (i.e. the helpdesk/service portal, triage, dispatch of engineer to site, etc.). Non-core activities comprise proactive maintenance works (or where required, reactive works) and also minor project works, of a more complex and/or valuable nature (and will generally include a design element). It will include the provision and management of supplementary engineering services needed to undertake and complete numerous diverse work items and packages. Services will consist of core and non-core activities. Core activities will comprise of emergency, reactive and proactive optimised maintenance works, including but not limited to, repair, replacement and refurbishment, with no design other than ‘installation design’ (i.e. to facilitate installation of replacement assets/parts). Service includes the management of services (i.e. the helpdesk/service portal, triage, dispatch of engineer to site, etc.). These core activities are likely to be subject to construction (design and management) regulations 2015 (‘CDM’), but not likely to be notifiable under the regulations. Non-core activities comprise proactive maintenance works (or where required, reactive works) and also minor project works, of a more complex and/or valuable nature (and will generally include a design element). These activities are likely to be subject to construction (design and management) regulations 2015 (‘CDM’) and may or may not be notifiable. The successful applicant will act as main contractor (with full design responsibility) for such works but will be entitled to sub-contract all or part of the works, subject to UU’s approval on any given works order.
